David has direct personal experience in the fields of strategy, business transformation and performance improvement as exemplified as follows:

  • Strategy formulation - by the development and formulation of the overall competitive strategy and transformation programmes worldwide for IBM GBS
  • Mergers and acquisitions - by his role in the post merger integration of Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse to create PwC Consulting, in preparing for IPO (NYSE) of that business, its eventual sale to IBM and the subsequent integration of PwC Consulting and IBM Consulting businesses in EMEA
  • Business development – by his personal leadership of the most ground-breaking agreements for PwC and IBM with clients including Nestlé, DVLA and Aviva
  • Profit improvement, restructuring and growth – by the major improvements in revenue and margins for IBM GBS EMEA and then for IBM GBS worldwide
  • Line leadership – by his roles as Managing Partner of PwC Consulting in EMEA, the same role in the enlarged post merger business in EMEA of IBM GBS and finally as Global leader of Strategy and Market development worldwide for IBM GBS

Those who can benefit most from David’s experience are leaders – and potentially their teams – who are
open minded in how to deal with similar opportunities and challenges. David has experience across almost
all sectors of industry and commerce but his personal leadership experience will be of most value to
large businesses in the service sector – particularly in professional services, support services, consulting,
systems integration and outsourcing firms.

Since concluding his line leadership roles, David has provided counsel to:

  • Sir Nigel Knowles – Managing Partner, DLA Piper International, leading global law firm
  • Martin Sutherland – Managing Director, BAE Systems Detica, Global Security and Intelligence business
  • Matthew Lohn – Managing Partner, Field Fisher Waterhouse, International law firm
